On Saturday, February 19,
Donna Harper and Jim Parish staffed an information table in the Springs Preserve during the annual Black History month festival. The table is part of our outreach program to expose more people to the Friends and to the Nevada State Museum. We had materials on the Friends, on the museum, on volunteering, and on our fundraisers,
We talked to a lot of nice people and found 6-8 potential new members and volunteers. It was an interesting and fun day. I continue to be surprised by the number of people who are not familiar with the museum and don’t even know it is on Springs Preserve grounds. But, that’s one of our goals – to familiarize more people with the museum and with the Friends.
Our next display at the Springs Preserve will be in May when we participate in Ecology Day.
