Money For Mannequins

The Money for Mannequins summer fundraiser was kicked off on July 6, 2021, with a goal of $15,000.  This was our most ambitious goal to date.  The money from the fundraiser was to be used to purchase archival mannequins which would better enable the museum to display items from their world class collection of textiles and clothing.  Our goal was to assist the museum in providing better and more interesting exhibitions for the public.

The campaign ended on August 31.   The final tally of donations was $7,181.  While this was far short of our goal, it is the largest single fundraising result we have achieved.  The Friends would like to sincerely thank the 41 people who donated to this campaign.  We very much appreciate your support and generosity!  THANK YOU!

Now that we have a defined mount of money, the Museum staff is analyzing various suppliers to determine the optimum way to spend the money so that we obtain the maximum number of mannequins possible.    The Museum will present their recommendation to the Friends Board on October 13.  If approved, the recommendation will be brought to the total membership at the Members meeting on October 21.

Again, thank you so much for the generous donations that helped this campaign to be a success.
