November Members Meeting

The next Friends meeting will be held on THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 20, 2025, at 2:30 pm at the Museum. All members and the public are invited to hear Sean Neiswenter, Associate Professor-on-residence, School of Life Sciences at UNLV. Sean’s research focuses on the classification, conservation, and natural history of mammals. His expertise is conservation biology.

Living in the desert is physiologically challenging. The continued development in Clark County poses a number of additional issues for native species. Sean will discuss some of the conservation research he has been conducting on a quintessential desert rodent, Chaetodipus penicillatus, the desert pocket mouse.

Join us to learn about these tiny mammals who share our home area. Be ready for a very different and thought provoking discussion.
