June Members Meeting

The next Friends meeting will be held on Thursday, June 19th at 2:30 pm in the Museum’s events room.  All Friends and members of the general public are invited.  Our speaker for the meeting will be Angelo Robledo, archaeologist, Atlatl knowledge expert, and educator.  Angelo spoke to us about a year ago on the history of Atlatl’s (ancient throwing tools)  and was well-received with an interesting and energetic presentation.

This year, Angelo will discuss with us his work to bring archaeology into school classrooms.  Since 2018, Angelo has worked with public, charter, and private schools in Las Vegas to introduce archaeological concepts and projects as a supplement to existing social studies curriculum.  This talk will overview his efforts and discuss best practices when talking to children about the human past!

Join us on June 19th to hear Angelo, chat with other members, and enjoy the afternoon! There is NO admission costs.
