June Members Meeting

June Meeting of the Friends

Join us on Thursday, June 20 at 2:30 pm in the museum events center for our June members meeting.  Doors open at 2pm. There is no cost to attend the meeting.  All are welcome!

Our speaker for the afternoon will be Angelo Robledo, from the Far Western Anthropological Research Group.  Angelo is an experimental archaeologist, with immense experience speaking to groups around the country about stone age technology.

Angelo is an Atlatl expert and will discuss the development of stone tool technologies in early humans, from simple flakes and choppers to complex spear points and knife blades.  He will also give an overview of the atlatl, a 30,000-year-old Ice Age spear-throwing weapon designed to hunt megafauna and discuss its particular relevance to Nevada history.

Join us for this fascinating discussion!
